Course Overview
This course was created in partnership between the 3D Institute. The completion of this course, prior to assuming duties as an athletic director or coach, fully satisfies the OSAA’s Interscholastic Coaching Course one-time requirement.
- Gain a high-level understanding of the 3D Coaching Framework
- Learn about SHAPE America’s National Standards for Sports Coaches as processed through the 3D framework
- Complete this course as part of OSAA’s requirement to coach in the state of OR

I really enjoyed this course. I expect to implement the things that I have learned into my coaching journey.
There were some New concepts, but I was fortunate to have been coached from my youth to college by some coaches that stressed winning and losing with class. A college football coach who took a team that had gone 1-11 two seasons in a row to an 8-4 record and a bowl game and when I saw him a couple years later I asked him what he and the coaching staff focused on because I was taking over a high school boys soccer team that had lost every game for a couple years. He told me that they were always positive, and told us to always control the two things in life that are always under our control, our attitude and our effort. Much of this 3D concept I have been taught but only with different words.

This is a great course for both individuals who have been coaching and are looking to enhance their programs and for new coaches looking to cultivate a new program.
This course provided a refreshing lexicon on coaching actions and mentality. It helps further knowledge and creates an incredible baseline to coach athletes and humans from. The format is well organized and I will be referring back to it as needed!
It was a good course it helped me view the game in a different position and find ways around to what todays generation is now dealing with.
