Course Overview
This course was created in partnership between the 3D Institute. The completion of this course, prior to assuming duties as an athletic director or coach, fully satisfies the OSAA’s Interscholastic Coaching Course one-time requirement.
- Gain a high-level understanding of the 3D Coaching Framework
- Learn about SHAPE America’s National Standards for Sports Coaches as processed through the 3D framework
- Complete this course as part of OSAA’s requirement to coach in the state of OR

The course is extremely long and while the material is important, it is not particularly engaging.
I learned a lot about what it means to truly be a coach. It is not all about the X's and O's, techniques and making sure I get the kids to perform. It's how I relate and effect the athletes mentally and emotionally. Be the players' coach.
