Course Overview
This course was created in partnership between the 3D Institute. The completion of this course, prior to assuming duties as an athletic director or coach, fully satisfies the OSAA’s Interscholastic Coaching Course one-time requirement.
- Gain a high-level understanding of the 3D Coaching Framework
- Learn about SHAPE America’s National Standards for Sports Coaches as processed through the 3D framework
- Complete this course as part of OSAA’s requirement to coach in the state of OR
To make it shorter, I am not saying the material is not important, but it could be covered differently and more efficiently.

It was eye opening and useful
There was a bit too much fluff for my tastes.
The topics pertinent to working with youth, and parents. In addition, topics are relevant to teaching the classroom.
It was fine
Good structure and variety. Loved the book recommendations and plan to read all of them.
The course did a good job breaking down the important information and making it relevant for a coach. The lessons bring good ideas and important actions of the coaches and how that impacts the players. I like that it sums up the bigger picture of what it means to be a coach. We are impacting not just their athletic careers but who are athletes are as people.
This is a very practical and easy to comprehend course. The material is not only relevant for coaching today but for life in general.
I really enjoyed this course. I played for a lot of coaches who motivated by using fear and punishment. This course has helped me see how this type of coaching and connection with the players would prove much more beneficial for all parties. The impact of the 3D Coaching Course has been immediately noticeable for me while working with my players. I feel better equipped to address the needs of my athletes, both on and off the field. The holistic approach ensures that us coaches are not just teaching sports skills but are also mentoring their athletes to become well-rounded individuals.
This was a great course that really explained and help to remind why being a coach is so important.

This course was extremely informative and well structured. I do like the use of the videos and how they were concise, short, and straight to the point. The instructors were personable and easy to connect with.
